Landmark Partnership Powers the Basketball Community with The World’s first Athlete Derived Probiotic & Microbiome Innovations

Bronx, NY - FitBiomics, a cutting-edge microbiome and probiotic company is partnering with Fordham University Athletics to serve as the program's official performance probiotic as well as provide unprecedented bio-tech opportunities to the Men's & Women's Basketball Programs.
 
FitBiomics uses microbiome technology to improve athlete performance from the inside out, and has translated this research to create next-generation probiotics.
 
Fordham student-athletes will have the opportunity to experience FitBiomics' first product, Nella, a probiotic uniquely derived from the microbiome of elite athletes, thereby making it a novel groundbreaking product offering, and dubbed "the world's first athlete derived probiotic."
 
"We are thrilled to announce FitBiomics as the official performance probiotic of Fordham Athletics," said Fordham director of athletics Ed Kull. "Their innovative technology gives our Rams a great opportunity to enhance their athletic performance as well as their overall health and wellness. We are committed to providing our student-athletes with resources to support their entire wellbeing and this partnership will help continue our efforts." 
 
"As a former college basketball player, I am excited to offer the results of my research at the Harvard Wyss institute to the Fordham athletic community." said Dr. Jonathan Scheiman, Founder and CEO of the New York based FitBiomics.
 
Fordham and FitBiomics will partner to educate students and the community about the importance of gut health, the microbiome, and next generation probiotics.
 
"This partnership is another example of Fordham Athletics' commitment to be at the forefront of sports science, but more importantly, a champion of overall health and wellness," added Dr. Scheiman. Dr. Scheiman, who earned his PHD at New York University, and is applying next-generation microbiome technology and probiotics to support the nutrition, health, and performance of today's students. 
 
Dr. Scheiman, a former student athlete at St. John's University, earned a PhD in Biomedicine. FitBiomics was spun out of the Wyss Institute, at Harvard, where Dr. Scheiman studied during his postdoctoral fellowship.
