Pitch Details

What if you could edit a taste or a smell? Aromyx is moving taste and scent into the digital world.

Aromyx has built a platform for digital capture, indexing and search of scent and taste data. The Aromyx platform includes the EssenceChip™ taste/scent sensor, Allegory software suite, AromaGraph family of visual analytics and access to the growing Aromyx online database of taste and scent data.

“Aromyx is Google Maps for Taste and Scent. It provides the flavor directions to get to any scent or taste.” — Dr. J. Bruce German, Professor and Chemist, Food Science and Technology Dept., University of California at Davis

The Aromyx platform will be invaluable to large corporations in the food & beverage, consumer packaged goods, chemicals and agriculture industries, as it will enable digital manipulation of taste and scent, akin to how we work with images and sounds today.

Traction: Initial customers buying the EssenceChip and Aromyx platform access are large consumer packaged goods, chemical, agriculture, food & beverage, tobacco, defense & aerospace, and automotive companies.

Aromyx is a privately-held company located in Palo Alto, California. Its early technology was funded by DARPA and the company was accelerated by both the Stanford StartX Accelerator, Plug and Play innovation center and the Propel(X) deep technology platform. Investors include Merus Capital, Oriza Ventures Technology Fund, Mindset Ventures, angel investor Eric Di Benedetto, former executives of Affymetrix and Illumina, Rationalwave Onshore Equity Fund, TEEC Angel Fund and Stanford StartX Fund.

NOTE: this is a 506(c) offering, and all purchasers in the offering must undergo additional steps to verify their accredited investor status before their investments can be accepted. On the Propel(x) platform, after investors complete the DocuSign step, our team will reach out to guide you through the verification process.
